The US inventory at the end of the month was 430,000 units, 311,000 lower than in April 2009. Overall, from the beginning of the year, the American manufacturer and its brands sold 300 percent more vehicles when it comes to the Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Equinox, Buick LaCrosse, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX.

“The good news is that we have more on the way, including the all-new Buick Regal this spring and the Chevrolet Cruze in the third quarter,” added Carlisle. Chevrolet alone sold 135,369 vehicles (17 percent more than last April), Buick posted a 36 percent leap to 12,181 units, marking the seventh consecutive month of double digit growth, GMC sales were 18 percent higher (24,224 vehicles), while Cadillac posted a huge 31 percent jump to 11,317 vehicles. Sales of our full-size pickups and our mid-sized crossovers continue to strengthen.”īrand by brand, all of GM's surviving badges managed to contribute to the positive figure. “But our results aren’t limited to just our newest vehicles. Available styles include Luxury 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6A), Luxury 4dr SUV AWD (3.0L 6cyl 6A), Premium 4dr SUV AWD (3.0L 6cyl 6A), Performance 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6A), Premium 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6A), 4dr SUV (3. “Clearly, our launch vehicles are hitting the mark with consumers who are looking for bold styling, quality, safety and fuel efficiency,” said Steve Carlisle, vice president of US Sales Operations. The Used 2010 Cadillac SRX is offered in the following submodels: SRX SUV. Year-to-date sales increased by 31 percent. In all, GM sold 183,091 vehicles this April.

Whatever it is, where the XT5 leads, more Caddys will follow. The fourth month of 2010 proved to be quite lucrative for American manufacturer GM, who after it managed to repay the government loans in full announced a 20 percent sales increase compared to April 2009. The fourth? Well, if we were in Vegas laying bets on future automobiles, we’d lay odds on a crossover “coupe” variant like the BMW X4 or X6. Another would be below the XT5, to do battle with the likes of the Audi Q3 in the compact arena. Looking at competitors’ lineups, it stands to reason that at least one of those would be above the XT5 in size and price-with three rows of seats and likely sharing much of its underthings with the next-generation Buick Enclave and friends. Perhaps most important, the XT5 is one of four new crossover entries coming from Cadillac. Otherwise, the full array of driver-assistance features are on hand, including blind-spot warning, forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic parking assist. There is no mention of the XT5 offering Cadillac’s semiautonomous Super Cruise feature, which will be available in the CT6 sedan.

Drivers might not have to deal with it that much, however, as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also are standard, and there’s wireless charging to keep your phone juiced. Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system is fitted, naturally, but the company claims it’s improved with faster processing. The advantage is that it can electronically allow drivers to “see through” the rear pillars and the rear-seat passengers’ heads. It superimposes a camera feed over the mirror glass.

The highlight feature is Cadillac’s electronic Rear Camera Mirror, which will debut first in the new range-topping CT6 sedan. Most people will be more interested in the in-car tech. The suspension combines struts up front and a multilink setup at the rear Cadillac’s adaptive Continuous Damping Control comes standard with the available 20-inch wheels (18s are the base offering).

Additionally, the driver is able to effectively lock the system in front-drive mode for greater fuel efficiency. Cadillac describes the all-wheel-drive system as able to send 100 percent of the engine’s torque to either axle it can further apportion torque across the rear wheels, with 100 percent going to either side.

(In the Chinese market, Cadillac also will offer a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder but we won’t get that engine.)įront-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive optional. Output climbs only marginally, to 310 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, but with the weight loss as well as the arrival of auto stop-start and a switch from a six-speed to an eight-speed automatic, both acceleration and fuel economy should improve. Under the hood once again is a 3.6-liter V-6, but this is a new engine seen already in the ATS and the CTS. A six-speed automatic is the only available transmission. Skillful bending of sheetmetal and attention to detail allows the XT5 to appear longer, lower, and wider than the somewhat ungainly SRX despite its nearly identical proportions. The Cadillac SRX comes standard with a 3.0-liter V6 rated at 265 horsepower and 223 pound-feet of torque. That weight loss is for a total package that is within an inch of the SRX in length, width, and height, but with a two-inch-longer wheelbase (at 112.5 inches) and an inch-wider track.
